Waku Naritasan Gate, located in the temple town of Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, the head temple of the temple. Inheriting the traditions of Umeya Ryokan, which has been welcoming pilgrims to Narita since the Edo period, it opened as a temple inn in 2022. Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, the venue for the second game of the 82nd Shogi Meijin Tournament, was founded in the Heian period when a prayer for the end of Taira no Masakado's rebellion was made by imperial decree of Emperor Suzaku. The temple was founded after the wish was granted, and was given the name Shinshoji Temple by Emperor Suzaku, which means "to win anew". The menu this time incorporates these backgrounds and has been prepared with the intention of bringing good luck so that the Meijin and challenger can relax from the fatigue of their journey to Narita, and can face the match with a pure mind and win. A special menu prepared exclusively for the players in the Shogi Meijin Tournament, Meijin Sota Fujii and 9th Dan Masayuki Toyoshima. With this plan, you can enjoy the same menu as the dinner on the first day. Take this opportunity to try the "Waku Kaiseki" meal commemorating the Shogi Meijin Tournament, which is carefully prepared using traditional Kyoto cuisine techniques and mainly uses ingredients from Chiba Prefecture, where the match took place. ■Dinner menu■ [Appetizer] Bunsen octopus, Junsai, pounded okra, torn plum, vinegar soup [Seasonal vegetables] Iris platter (first bonito from Katsuura, Chiba Prefecture, Okoze yu-arai from Shizuoka Prefecture, Saimaki from Okinawa Prefecture, etc.) [Soup dish] Usukuzu style (maruyose anpei from Ibaraki Prefecture, tapioca, etc.) [Ending dish] Hokkaido sea urchin soba [Flat dish] Braised Japanese beef, shark fin [Grilled dish] Abalone, spiny lobster from Chiba Prefecture, vegetables, white miso sauce [Main dish] Hokkaido Japanese beef sirloin sukiyaki [Rice] Tako Koshihikari rice [Vegetables] Fried eel [Soup] Red miso soup [Pickles] Assorted [Fruit] Apple mango from Miyazaki Prefecture Strawberry *Depending on the availability of ingredients, some of the menu may change.
